I am a postdoctoral research fellow working on developing methods to detect general configuration stellar magnetic fields. During my PhD at Princeton, I developed the theoretical machinery to image 3D magnetic fields in the Sun by borrowing mathematical tools from terrestrial seismology. Currently, my research revolves around using magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) and inverse theory to carry out magnetic field inversions in red giants. This emerging field of magneto-asteroseismology derives heavily from plasma physics, helioseismology and geophysics and I speak the language of all three (otherwise non-interacting) disciplines.
